At Charlvon, our maintenance process is driven by a computerized maintenance management system software (CMMS). We monitor the condition of our equipment on a constant basis, utilizing key data to make informed decisions. This has shown significant potential for improving reliability and optimizing maintenance costs. All Charlvon rig equipment have been incorporated into the CMMS software. We also run a robust and effective spare parts management system.
The Discovery Rig 201 has successfully drilled 14 wells and completed 13 wells for the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Pillar Oil and for NPDC Joint Venture companies such as Chevron Nigeria Limited and First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited.
Discovery Rig 202 has successfully drilled and completed 2 wells for Nigerian Exploration & Production Limited JV project with First Hydrocarbon Nigeria.
Abura 2STwas the first well drilled by the Discovery Rig 201. ltwas a side track well with a TD of 12,S21 ft. Charlvon successfully drilled the well with a rig efficiency of 94. 71 %.
Abura SST was also a side track well with a TD of 12,23S ft. Rig efficiency improved to 96.7% within this period. Successful delivery of these wells increased Abura field production. This brought a lot of accolades to Charlvon Limited, and was also published by NPDC in its annual magazine in 2019.
Oghareki 3 was drilled in Oghareki/Okwefe field. The pilling hammer operation was performed by Charlvon. This well was drilled to a total depth of 12,200 Ft-MD (Rig efficiency was 95%).
The Discovery Rig 201 drilled and completed 3 wells with an average of 30days per well despite COVID-19 pandemic. The average rig efficiency while drilling OGINI 1 ST, OGINI 27, and OGINI 28 was 97.1 %. These wells were delivered within the planned AFE, saving our client thousands of dollars in monetary value.
The Discovery Rig 201 drilled 2 wells and completed 3 wells at OML 111. Oredo 18 was completed successfully. Oredo 19 was drilled to a depth of 12,312 ft with a rig efficiency of 95.82%. Oredo 20 was drilled to a depth of 14,262 ft with a rig efficiency of 99.08%. All wells were drilled within our client's planned AFE.
Owopele North 3 was drilled with a rig efficiency of 95% to a total depth of 13,600ft, and casing shoe set at 13589ft. TCP/DST was carried out to ascertain the commercial viability of oil in the reservoir. 3 plugs were set at different depths and cement was tagged at 158ft. A total of 14 BHA runs were carried out on the well.

The lgbuku-1 campaign was a workover operation with the objective of drilling out existing cement plugs, carrying out CBL, perforate zone of interest, perform production testing and suspend well for completion later. Several obstructions were encountered in the hole which necessitated milling & fishing to a depth of 12,498ft with a rig efficiency of 97%. Cement plug back job was carried out and suspension cap installed on well head.
The lsoko-10 well was the first well drilled and completed by Discovery Rig 202. This well was batch-drilled with two other wells with surface hole drilled to section TD of 5,930ft and 12-1 /4" hole section TD of 10,971 ft. The well was completed using the Two String Dual Design (TSD) with 3-1/2" tbg on the short string and 2-7 /8" tbg on the long string. Charlvon successfully drilled the well without incident or accident with a rig efficiency of 98% and an NPT record of 0.75%. Total number of BHA runs made was 44.
The lsoko 1 0 well was the second well batch drilled by Discovery Rig 202. It was also an exploratory well with surface hole drilled to 5854ft, 12-1 /4" hole section drilled to 13,424ft, 8-3/8" hole section drilled to 16, 100ft and 5-7/8" hole section to 18,848ft with rig efficiency of 98%. Total number of BHA runs made was 22.
